Many hands make light work
It's true - writing with other people really DOES make a difference. I slammed out 1700 words (plus or minus) tonight while having a lot of fun, all because I had my writing buddies with me. Actually, I had the best of all worlds because we were at my house, so I could hang out with my puppies (always a good thing!), eating the pizza I wanted (Round Table pizza - hawaiian and the gourmet chicken & garlic - YUMMMMM!), and being with some new and super fun friends. Once again, I am officially On Track with 13,526 words (for the uninitiated, today's goal was 13,336).
It's wierd how such an off-the-wall event like NaNoWriMo can bring people together. A month ago, I didn't know JoAnne, Claudine, or Scott, and now I can't imagine life without them. Oh, sure, we're still doing the "we're-still-getting-to-know-each-other dance" and no doubt I'm not the only person who is self-conscious about one thing or another about myself, but so far it looks promising and that makes me really happy. :) :) :) I've had a dearth of adult friends that I could call my own - most are either friendly acquaintances who I don't consider to be true friends, or friends of other people I know that I've just sort of attached myself to. Not that there's anything particularly wrong with that as a part of building one's social structure, but it's nice to know I can make friends without tagging along at my older sister's parties.........

Officially speaking -
You are still kicking my ass!
Revel in it darlin - I think I might just pop by tonight to bang out a few ill-written sentences before going to confession ---- it will give father Al something to actually listen too :-)
